Last night, into the night
We didn't close our eyes once
The necessity for blinking
Had been temporarily suspended
We were too busy
Considering one another's
Features, by the light of
A stereo glow
I've never known so much
From observing so little
But night faded into the east
And
The morning fell upon us
Like a ten ton anvil
Intent on breaking our backs
To enjoy tangibly,
petty sadist daydreams
The sliced my eyelides
And ripped the canvas
Blank, black, indiscrete
Revealing humble nudity
It's violent lemon bursts
Scolding us for our reckless
Crimes of indecence
And unhindered desire
To make love to every minute
So that each breath is stinking
Of sweat and personal
Ecstasy. The purest elements
Of our actions.
This light and our yawns
Insisted we leave this for
Another time
But
I was not ready to surrender
You
To the grime of garbage trucks
And spit stained sidewalks
Not until we really open our eyes

I love the speed of the poem, up down up down and it fools me the first time around, becous it is personal. The ending is breathtaking, more so breath holding. Great. Tiger
