Watch the bunny dressed in black
tiptoe through the glistening field
of ice-covered roses asleep for the
night, awaiting the time of bloom
Crunch goes the ground beneath
it's shivering feet as it
steps over jagged peaks of
frozen, forgotten land
A cloud of stilled breath
puffs right before its eyes
as the pattern shortens
to a quick, painful huff

Cry, little rabbit, CRY
until icicles hang from
your quivering chin, for
this darkness will never fade
Fall to the earth with
heart-shattering squeals
while the creatures grasp hold
of your tired, calloused feet
Crawl to the safety only
fantasy can create
for you entered land
enchanted and controlled by the unseen

Looking up at the sorrowed moon
the hare tries to stand
as he glances around for evil-
though nothing appears to linger
Slowly to regain the strength
frightened from his frigid limbs
the bunny rises from his fall
and continues on his journey
Winding through a thick of trees
brushing past the razor-edged leaves
darkness trails the bunny behind
reminding him that he can not hide

The ebony air sends whispers swimming
terrorizing the hare with cruel threats
spinning lies of promised harm
if he continued his defiance of their power
Midnight slips out from its hold
that the sky had previously owned
wraps itself about the hare
and creates an image that, to anyone, would scare
The Midnight Hare then strips of his cloak
revealing flaming hairs of crimson red
and declares that he is ruler of all
The Devil- In Death Bunny form - is not dead!
