I found death amongst the grass today
perched atop a fallen weed
with thinning wings
and mangled legs
and all I could do was look
what happens when we're found like that
our lifeless bodies laying upon a surface
blending in with all of the decay
that surrounds the aura
of a diminishing hope for survival
I do not wish to fade from existence
but only from reality
the sadness that ensued upon my
discovery today has only finalized
my dreams of escaping this death-ridden world
