staring at the paper
resting right before my eyes
my thoughts too jumbled to pen
which comes as no surprise
try to plot the theme in mind
of my up and coming lines
but it comes out as a forced,
kind of not-so-quite right rhymes
this normally only happens
when my head has gone astray
and the in- has joined the -sane
fading my sight to a gray
blurred out visions everywhere
every turn, every stare
panicked voices surround sound
my body lifted off the ground
layed to rest upon a bed
but don't you worry; i'm not dead
just calmly waiting to return
back to you and share what i've learned
i dreamt of places so insincere
that no one has ever lingered here
frightening voices slice through my ears
as it seems i've been here for years and years
NO! don't come, i need no help
you may have heard a ghostly yelp
but please trust me i shall not lie
my body's alive, but my soul, it cries
the tremors pulsing through my veins
contain no poisons but only stains
stains of old who've passed on through
this gravely place as i am too
the Land of Darkness i've entered now
and yes, of course, i know just how
but please don't make me tell you now, it's much too much to bear
the time will come and i'll warn you it is far greater than any scare...
to be continued....
