These people think they know me
pretend to be understanding
Act as if my life is open for display
My body strapped down as my
head is ripped open
a flood of oozing feelings
enveloping me whole
a mask of truth and
bitter honesty
exposing all my secrets
and woes of self
Pity me or toss me aside
it bears no matter
for I lay alone
Confined to this
picture window
with sound-proof glass
I scream my deepest emotions
Screaming murder,
For each note that escapes
my lips, only to be
mistaken and cast aside
as unimportant,
Kills a small new part of me
leaving only exhaustion and
Frustration as I remain utterly misunderstood
