she was depraved ... innocence burned in smoke
long before
evereaching
out to mother

Armed with graphite
she wrote nightmares into reality
fallen into a rabbit hole, she dreamt of Alice
and studied the way she ran across escape

He was blond, English accent
she survived with her only sister
packing everything they owned
into a bag fit for their shoulders

Once, she felt "the woman" would come and
remind Alice of how she burnt down her building
crumbling like ashes, She crept into the staircase

Fossilized from eyes wanting to shatther bones
penetrate these doors, sunlight doesnt boil like the
distanceating for starvation

Eventually, with her other ...
theyd run across damns, down waterfalls
stomaching only thin slices of air
&
having this loss of pigment to share

they crept over, dug under, destroyed fences
to keep him from ever reaching their face

Streets imagined, come together with alleys
condensed in shit - and the pale blue sky
extends into night

Once
cold rang inside
like the footsteps trailing them into insomnia
crept along the paths of lumber they shattered to flee
she remembered of how he spoke,

Radiator Beetles
heat up like a furnace when they expel their
waste
walk with them, seduce their taste

Warmth
is how starvation holds invisible
And time
is what we all wish to kill
