Shock of happenings
Awoken to a jolt of pain
Who knew the dust would clear so slow
The concrete post blocks the path into the river
The car’s front attempts to twist around itself.
It was so unexpected we knew nothing at first
World was bright then void took over
I re-awoke into confusion and pain
Lacings of ice crept through my chest
I found no breath to draw
No sight to see
No comfort to dwell in
Immediately they jump out
I am left to wonder and realize I was scared
Calming breaths take Asthma’s threat to bay
Worried eyes land on me and I force a smile through the pain
Bruised not Broken
I survive to live another day

March 19th 2005, 6 days after my 18th Birthday we hit a concrete bridge at about 27 MPH. All I can say is OW! And what a crapy Birthday Present! And here are the thoughts that mulled about my mind when it happened! Enjoy my pain! ^.^
* April 9th 2007 Some dumbass going to fast on a snowy slick back road slammed into the front of our car. I think I'm having a bad time with cars in this state.
