The Darkness Closes In

My world disappears into the darkness,
Into the depths of souls unseen,
Into the world of the unknown.
I lay trembling in that darkness,
Begging to be released from my confinement,
But my cries go unnoticed ...
Unwanted I lay there dying...
My blood puddling around my near lifeless body...
Pale flesh, dull eyes...
Shineless hair...
And pure red blood soaking into it all...
Will I die here alone?
Or will my unknown knight save me?
Thoughts fly through my head,
And I realize that no one cares...
