Your trusty, four-door, family sedan makes a wrong turn.
You find yourself too far away from your usual home
In a place you have never known.

You stop at a red light
Patiently waiting for the green to appear
When you suddenly realize you’ve been sitting still for a year.

Spotting several beautiful women underneath the street lamp
For a moment suspended in time you believe they look your way
A feeble attempt to call them over goes unheard from all but you.
Collecting reality has become a task to difficult to take.

Contemplating the life you now live
Those 2 &1/2 kids, well,
You remember how they make you feel as if you’re in jail.
And that bitch you call a wife,
Yeah, fuck ‘em all, ya’ll go to hell.

As for the 8 to 5 ritual drain-
You already knew that one day your mind will be empty.
The dreams and fantasies once afforded to your younger self
Now belong to the one replacing your life.

All you have ever known is what was right.
Clearly, once, you knew what was wrong.
You decide, after all, to go through that red light.

Into the unknown.
