Tragic and virtually hopeless-
When describing our situation these words resound within my ears
Reverberate within my brain.
Difficulty, I would say, you find
When contemplating a relationship with me.
You know, though, that much I do understand,
Although reasons for that do not actually exist.
Your beginning was conceived in me and
As loyal as possible to you,
I will remain.
The life I own is worthless as long as
You stay away,
As long as you can not accept me for the absolute and total
Truths I have laid before your eyes.
Bruised, bent, broken,
These three I am.
No longer can I continue the abuse
I bestow upon myself.
No, not for what is,
For what may be,
Or never be.
You have forgiven strangers for more,
Undoubtedly.
Therefore, what reckoning do you find
In this torture of me?

I liked this piece, very deep and personal. Making your pain so evident "Bruised, bent, broken, These three I am." Each word leaving their mark upon my soul..
