I paint portraits of you in memory
Lest no one seize the remembrances of thee.

You have been away for so long

I pretend you are on the sojourner’s journey
Once filled of glorious deeds and days visited
Back to me with weary dreams you will be
My eagerness to paint still lifes of you
Wwill reign over your domain.
Capturing to reclaim your need to roam.

…….or maybe……..

You will return in a blaze atop a white stallion
An the same instance the gardenias swell with fragrant blooms.
Capturing all unused senses
Calming your restlessness within
Trees of life, we will rob of their sweet, wet fruits
Gorging ourselves,
Standing still in that moment
Forgetting the unknown roads less traveled
And their calling upon for your return.

 ……………or………….

We will meld as one as we gracefully glide
Making snow angels in the soft, lush, summer’s grass.

Sorrow overcomes and I find everywhere that I look
I begin to bleed
Trying to expel these dreams never to be.
Heaven took you away so very long ago
An elegant angel for of
They were in need.
I feel your soft whispering movement wiping away the blood
Tragic as this
As my life has become.
