And so the night had finally come for chapped lips to achieve
The moisture of one thousand waves afloat on passion's sea
Down to the surface - Rippled - Didst I stare with mounting thirst
To dip my face into that place of love and be the first

The ocean - deep and wicked - Brandished outward on her eyes
And beckoned me to swim within with morals compromised
Forgetting what my word had been I went to dip my feet
To find the ocean wept for me was littered in deciet

And there she told me in my eyes she found a special place
And to her speech I felt, inside, the same about her face
That when my eyes had brushed atop those magic curves and skin
I felt as if we were alone, together, sealed within

All dreams I've dreamt and tears I've wept have ended all the same
Promises lie broken and attempts for warmth - in vain
And at the end of ev'ry hollow spell to feel in love
I sit unable to escape wings broken - as a dove

Such sweet replies she offered me - such thoughts of loving bliss
Which only made the blade within my soul begin to twist
For years I'd managed to escape true feelings and true pain
Until that night she didst confess those whispers in the rain

At once the world I'd dreamt would be began to tear apart
And in that riven dream behind it trailed a riven heart
Which brought me back to old beliefs of feelings in a blur
That true love only lies in pages - printed - inked - in words
