Swept a'top me in a wave - A blanket, a dark shroud
A robe of suede enigma - Black - A frigid cloak of mist
A seering cloth of ardebt flame - A blanket of dark cloud
The howling winds, yelp'd from the jaws of crowding masses, hissed

And so I felt the anxious hands, across the moonlight, reach
To touch upon my thoughts - to brush their fingers 'cross my soul
Fear - the flame behind them - Driving cold lips to beseech
Those hands to make a fist and dig to reach my chasm - full

Yet always eager arms Seem'd to fall short when venturing
Into the murky depths most dare not swim
Deep 'neath malign marshes thro' the bitter frosts so severing
Those cracked, archaic badlands found within

And those most daring fingers given chance to truly feel
Those bitter frosts which swirl athwart my mind
Coiled ; Bending backwards into shadows funereal
Never to return a second time

Yet still those hungry hands didst reach across the barren plains
And once beholding all my fears retreated sipping the insane
Left with but a bitter taste to hold upon their tongues
No longer did they dare to question why I chose to run

Such beasts are thought and held within a mind unwhole as mine
Which lay unreachable thro' most conceptions of our time
Such fiends have flown about me long before the rules of time
And such reprieves much like these words are from a soul long before mine
