The winds whip against her
as she tries to stand
beaten, bruised, and weathered
she falls down again
laying there
she cries
as
tortured memories
rain from her eyes
of
1,000 yesterdays
of
" could've been's "
&
" what if's "
spilling out of her broken life
as
time passes her by
once...so in love
**sighs**
(and even hanging by threads...her love for him isn't dead)
squeezed to tight
by the hands of fate
...now...
for the last time
unable to escape
the screams
that haunt her mind
the death of a 1,000 doves
as they're falling from heaven
( whispers a prayer....to anyone who cares................knowing, ..no one is there )
lying there... the earth beneath her begins to shake
trembling
inside her eyes
scenes of 1,000 lifetimes flash
....and within a single blink....
~realizing~
It’s her own heart as it breaks
