leafs fall on the unblinking eye
the one that cried before it opened forever
brushing aside the last ounce of dignity
a light is nailed to the floor
a coward cats tail twitches as he thinks
he's never seen a thing so sad
with a pose a strut and a scream
the fight ensued
and with a thrust she lay
beat to the world
ink on the page
now just a smear
