so frail
so frail
they haven't even cried yet.
you swaddle them up,
and take them home.
you feed them, and bathe them, and comfort them in awe.
you love them, and are proud of them no matter what.
as they grow and you age, there are good times and bad.
but none of that matters, because you are here.

so frail
so frail
you haven't even cried yet.
they swaddle them up, and take them away.
you're in shock, as they put them in the box and slide them in the fire.
it isn't suppose to be this way, mourning your children.
all that is left is ash and memories.
