Mistake

So this is what I've been waiting for,
To be hurt by someone else,
I thought you would be different,
Thought you actually liked me,
Comes to find out it was all a mistake,

Was it my fault?
How was I to know what to do,
Everything is just so new to me,
I thought you would understand,
I guess you don't understand at all,

You want to be just friends,
But I don't know if I can,
I need someone to be there for me,
Someone to lean on,

I'm sure you feel bad,
But I guarantee I feel a lot worse,
To be lead on then dropped,
How the hell does that work?
