Material possession
Poetry by James Kulikowski Published on DarkPoetry.com 2006-04-06
Tears brought on by the lingering pain of love
Forming a shallow puddle
A hallow emptiness left in its place
A slice of the wrist,
A sharp pain,
As a sharp sword penetrates into the skin,
Of my mortal flesh.
My blood drips upon ground,
Creating a pool where the puddle once lied
Illuminated by the starlit sky and
A reflection of the moon shining,
Brightly in the pool of red.
Anger held back,
Forced inward into aggression,
Into pain, and anguish.
My love and happiness fades away,
Like the sunset during the new moon,
Darkness arises in the depths of my soul,
Drawing forth the awakening of the evil within.
Once again hatred,
Pain,
And sorrow
Have joined each other in my soul
Destroying all that I have worked for
The love I have fading away into the darkness
And all because of material possessions
