"untitled"

Once lost in darkness,
hidden deep in the shadows of the ebon abyss,
where pain and hatred dwell,

tearing away at my mortal flesh.
A bright ray of light,
my eyes open wide,
searching out the sun I once knew so well,

yet it was nowhere to be found.
My eyes fell from the heavens I so long for,
they fell upon you in all your beauty,
standing right there in front of me,
the first ray of hope in a long line of sadness.

You lay your gaze upon me,
reaching out to me and giving me a black withered rose,
I look down as it gently pricks my finger,
and a drop of blood falls upon its leaves.

Slowly the rose rises,
the steam stiffens,
as the bright colors rush back into the flower,
I reach out of the shadows for your hand.

Our fingers interlace,
light floods my world,
revealing the beauty of garden so long hidden,
I whisper against your lips as we kiss.

“My heart is yours forever more”
