. ...your mouth was chewing on the afterburn

of me trying
to talk
to you…but i lost
... . .the words .. ..
and i never knew why

you kept me
tucked away
like so many
skeletons
without their tongues
clattering
in the closet,
so knowingly dark. .. ..
i should have been
.... ..so many sounds.. .. .

time was just a black thing
over my face
and your kisses were distractions
from the disillusion meant
for eyes
and i
couldn’t see,

.. ...how your hands
climbed
mountains
in my blind night;

i slept,
right through
your ascension.

Felt like this was a bit too close for comfort, like waking up one morning and finding everyone had evolved while I remained stagnant in my own insecureties, and the one other that I held trust in was aware of it all along, a product of low self-asteem and orchestrated by a deceitful conductor.

Oddly enough, it reminds me of that blind, s.lightly groggy midnight fumbling that, contrary to previous conflict that should have left a solid wall in place, is nothing more than instinct. Not sure if that's what you intended, but then again... that is the beauty of a poe(m/t).
