a mossy retreat.... peace blossoms between the years gathering amid these living sculptures... do I spy tombstones enriching the majesty of this enchanted scape?
good eye, dearheart. .. its why i love the palce. . . very old [for america] markers as well; some are early 1800's. ..but most have been sacked, ruined, kicked over. . .i try to right them, but theya re tres heavy. >
picturesque and inspiring... reverent even... there should be a word for the feeling one gets when the richness of history overwhelms and the brevity of a lifespan becomes so apparent that one can only be awed by life.
The cthulhu mythos is fictive world of Howard Phillips Lovecraft (August 20, 1890 – March 15, 1937).
He is the inventor of a cosmic horror world, where everything is alien.
The far reaches of space, the depth of the ocean, the inner woods of grand forests
are just some of the places filled with these creatures of horror and insanity.
Among his many short stories are one of a cemetery much like this one, where cultists raise a demon.
The colour blue is also often used to descripe the world seen in human perspective, and also used
in a cthulhu mythos film called the mounth of madness, where a summoner of these
tentacle horrors tells's Sam Niel, the main charecter that his favorit colour is blue.
Sam opens his eyes and everything around him is blue.
Lovecraft is one of the fathers of horror realy, inspiring men like Dean Koonz and Stephen King to write
He is the inventor of The Necronomicon, also often used in literature and films.
and Cthulhu is everywhere in fiction and often cartoons, if you know what to look for :) And I'm not just beeing a geek about it.
Read King's the dark tower series and tell me that you dont see what he tells you is reality all around you.
I hope that made some kind of sense to you. My main point was that I have seen both this location and these colours in Lovecrafts works, but you actualy posted a real life picture of this world he descripes.
yes, makes perfect sense; necromancy at its best i would iamgine; know of Lovecraft, but i have seldom read of his works [i know, i know. . . sacrilege to some]. .. .thank you for my enlightenment :} lu\/s+

Pick me up at 6.
I wrote a poem about seeing things like that called "now and then", and that is exactly what I meant by others couldn't know what a particular instance could mean to me at those times, my internal past craves these images as strong as my "want to write"...thanks sainted.

lovely bit of serenity you've found... and as always a great picture
the colors/shades captured here is superb. and the trees in the back could pass as souls guarding their precious bodies. very peaceful and the colors are pleasing to the eyes.

How do you find all of these places? And capture them so perfectly... I have no idea where you live but if I ever go there I want a tour from you :P

this is actually just on the other side of the creek that runs through my property; its 600+ or so acres of woodsy and pasture land. .. . i made nice with the cowboy that owns it; he lets me and my baby girl meander around. ... as long as we dont spook the cows :}
