Hello grandma, yes it have been awhile
I’m sorry, but why do you have to be buried so far
But I’m here now, grandma, I’ve missed your smile
How’s everything with you?

Well, grandma lets talk about me
I’ve been good, you know how it is
Four years have gone quickly don’t you agree
Nellie is graduating from college this December

I’ve managed good grades in school too
But I’m taking a year off, grandma
don’t get mad, I’ll go back.. Its just my breakthrough
To dance, yes I’ll be dancing all over the world

Aren’t you proud?
I know you’ve been watching over me
Didn’t you see how I worked with the crowd?
I know you might don’t like the way I move

*chuckles*

But anyway, Zane is graduating from high school
Yes, the baby one in the family, he grew so much
And yes, he’s going to school and he gunna play soccer. Isn’t that cool
Nellie and me will be watching him and making sure he’ll pass

Mommy and daddy are doing allright
They had their 25th year anniversary
It was a lot of fun, we partied all night
Daddy is treating mom very well.

Grandpa is very good too
He have been so strong
His girlfriend kinda reminds me of you
But nobody can replace you, grandma..

Its starting to rain
But that’s okay I like to get wet
It kinda washes away the pain
Isn’t it a sign from you?

Wherever you are,
What is it like?
Is it so far?
But yet you’re so close to me…

Well grandma, I better go
Moms waiting in the van
She couldn’t stay long , just a hello
She’s still not over the fact that you’re gone

You understand that, right?
Yeah I knew you would
Grandma, watch over me day and night
And I’ll be missing you.

I cannot imagine my grandmother's passing away. I'm sorry about yours... This was lovely. Wistful, reminiscent, light and honest.

A good reminder to those still with Grandmas to appreciate them...I hope to be a good Grandma someday and be remembered as sweetly as this...'cept I would be saying"Honey, if your gonna dance really knock em out!"
