The Heartache Room

"you better let someone love you
before it's too late"
~Desperado- Eagles

The piano plays its depressing tune, the song
that is playing lingers in my head
encasing shadows in notes.
The piano plays, it plays away
hoping somehow it will play happier tunes tonight.

The heartache room
the piano sits and plays away, plays the notes
the people came to hear
the piano plays
and it keeps on playing.

Echoes of the song ring through my ears
and skips into my heart
slowly killing it with coldness
I won't let it get so far gone
I will refuse to sing along here in the heartache room.

I want him to come and take me away
and whisper softly
"you wont have to go back in there
I got you now"
I sit there in my little corner of the room
and look at the door
waiting,
just waiting,
I am waiting in the heartache room.

"There's gonna be a heartache tonight, oh lord I know"

The theme song of this room
"there's gonna be a heartache tonight
the moons shining bright
so turn out the light
and we'll get it right
there's gonna be a heartache tonight
a heartache tonight I know"

The candle light in the heartache room
the saddened souls
the hearts that froze in time
due to heartbreak
standing or sitting
whispering the song
making the words heard
over the music.

"We can leave it in a parking lot
but either ways there's gonna be a heartache tonight
a heartache tonight I know.

The piano continues to play
as it always does
and as it always will
playing two songs
but somehow
mix into one
the silent ones in the crowd
tap their feet to the beat,
in the heartache room.

He whispers "lets get out of this joint
it's not for us
I got a better place we can go to
without hearts freezing from the notes
a place
where frozen hearts thaw out
again."

He heads out the door taking my hand
and I follow along
looking back into the heartache room
no one knew I was gone
but someone already took my spot,
my corner,
my sanctuary from that room.

Her face so sad,
so scared,
so alone,
and I realize
she needs that spot
till her joy
the one to guide her
and hold her
comes to get her to take her away
and sweep her off her feet
so her heart can unfreeze too.

I realize that the room
is no longer in veiw
but I still hear the music
its funny how the numbness goes away
with one warm smile
from someone
that loves you so much.

"You better let someone love you
before it's too late"

My hearts aching tonight
but he whispers to me
"it's gonna be alright, no need for a heartache"

Echoes in the middle of the night
the songs that the heartache room
blended together
to create one sad one
only to help the process of love in the end.

The piano played its depressing tune
the notes
they leaped around and seeped into the ears of listeners
and froze hearts
like there was no tomorrow.

The tapping and whispering
made the words and the beat
the silent ones tapped
the talking ones whispered
the piano played
the hearts froze
and one by one
they were let free
their hearts unfroze.

Nothing in this room
but a piano and notes
ready to freeze a broken heart
and heal the soul,
nothing but the heartache room.

( Alot of the lines in quotations are from either Desperado or Heartache Tonight both of which are by the Eagles. If you cannot tell already, I am an Eagles fan. Example of Heartache Tonight since I did not put the song title underneath any of the parts I used from that song-
"there's gonna be a heartache tonight
the moons shining bright
so turn out the light
and we'll get it right
there's gonna be a heartache tonight
a heartache tonight I know"

*swoons* The song lyrics just struck everything home all that much harder...this piece screams at me in tones of lonely heartache mingling with the hopes of finding something in a stranger. Excellent, as I told you earlier. ~*Beth*~
