Can’t Kill The Beat

I close my eyes and forget about life
Only for this moment I am peaceful
Calm, I can feel the beauty.

The sound of a guitar
Not just any guitar
An acoustic guitar
Playing strings and chords
Making sounds as if all the life
In the world
Was sucked into that one guitar for those few moments
And I felt as if I couldn’t go on
All the beauty in that one song
The beauty that danced in and out of my life
All in a few minutes,
No I can’t go on
Without the beauty that drives me
Fills me with inspiration,
Drives my will to carry on
And on
Through my life.

The words I hum to
And I want to dance
Dance forever
And on
On
Dancing
Dancing forever
To the song
That drives my inspiration.

You could bend and twist
And contort me into un-imaginable forms
And still
I would dance and hum
Snap my fingers
And keep my eyes shut,
You could hold me down
As tight as you want,
I will still break free
From your grasp
The beauty
Drives my will
To dance
Drives my inspiration.

Breathe
I breathe deeper and deeper
As each note is played
The beauty of the song
Of the chords
Of the words
Of everything
Fit together
I breathe
Stuck in time
Stuck in a world
Where the song never ends.

Beauty
I have never realized that the world can be so beautiful
Looking through it
Through a painted glass
Through the beauty of one song.

“some dance to remember
And some dance to forget”

I dance to remember and forget
The dances never in
This world is such a beautiful place
You can kill the song
But you can’t kill the beat
The beauty that runs through it
The beauty that runs through someone’s soul
Oh yeah
You can kill the guitar
You can smash all the drums
But you can’t kill the beat.

The guitar that plays the chords
The drums that keep the beat
The voice and voices
The beauty that lives inside
No,
You can’t kill the bea(u)t(y).

**I was listening to a certain song I like by the Eagles…. Hotel California to be exact. The words in quotations (“ “) are lines from the song. Another inspiration was a friend of mine... (you know who you are) telling me that she was lost in her own little world. It’s a great thing to be lost in your own little world sometimes. I know it is for me. I just wanted to share this piece that I wrote, for the beauty that lies inside.**

*sighs* I should have read this earlier, it might have calmed my nerves a little had I taken the time to do so. This is GORGEOUS, love! Absolutely positively GORGEOUS. I fall to my knees at your feet. ~*Beth*~

..or the beast! Have done many a drive on darkened nights in California to that song. Amazing how getting lost can save us from the clutches that grasp at us.(did you mean "an" acoustic guitar?)
