I知 standing on the doorstep of death
where evil children laugh in my ear
I hear the voices in my head
they池e wanting to mess me up
Even more than my dreams do.
I知 standing on the doorstep of death
I am falling farther and farther down,
with nothing to grab to stop me.
I am blind to everything else
except that fading light.
I知 standing on the doorstep of death,
the light disappears
and I can see nothing,
I feel nothing,
and hear nothing
except the beating of my heart.
That too is fading.
I知 standing on the doorstep of death
taking shallow breaths
trying to stay afloat in this invisible liquid
and not drown.
But I find it hard to fight.
I知 standing on the doorstep of death
and I finally knocked on the door
where death stares me in the face.
Death tells me of all
the wonderful
things about death. Like no more suffering
and no more pain, no more heartbreak
no more shame. I think a while before I
speak my answer.
I知 standing on the doorstep of death
and I thought and I fought
and I said no to death.
No I am not going to die this day.
For if I fought to stay alive this long
then why not stay a little longer?
