She tosses and turns
Staying awake at night
She knows what's going to happen
That everything between them
Is far from alright
She knows what he wants to say
What he wants to do
How it's going to make her feel
And also how to him
It'll be an escape
She knows how
She's going to react
And what she's going to say
But she can't stop it
No matter how she tries
Now the words are passing her lips
And he is reacting
How she was supposed to react
Now he's saying
What she was going to say
But it's not happening
Because the words she has to say
He can't hear
From six feet under the ground
She knows he can't forgive
Words that were never said
But still she feels
Like those words must be uttered
There's just one thing
Even if she does say them
And then say I'm Sorry
He won't hear
Because
He's dead
