I remember you
How you used to be
How we used to fight
About the most theatrical things
I remember sitting there
As you played
Like Beethoven himself
Even if I wasn't invited
I would come
And you'd play
Stealing my heart with each measure
The first song
Moonlight Sonata
How beautifully
It came from
The out of tune piano
I remember how your body
Would move with the notes
The music flowing through you veins
Beating in your heart
I remember just sitting there
Listening
No words passed between us
But so much said
I remember you
How you were
And I miss it all
As I miss you
The music brings back memories
I hold onto
With every note played.
