darkness sleeps within her heart

but its never phased when the curtains rise

the music plays and she performs

a plastered smile to match her marble eyes

she begins slowly, but never falters

her dance of streaking personified elegance

the audience watches with awe-struck vision

gazing upon her inexplicable finesse

the notes ring a pounding
resonation
portraying her desperate
motivation
causing her impending
pulsation
leading into her vibrant
trepidation

the flawless appearance is shattered when
her self-centered secrets are exposed on stage

but no one watching takes heed to notice
she smiles helplessly, until she breaks

Heh I liked the concept behind this. Or my interpretation of it anyway. Last line drove it home perfectly.

Very vivid....enjoyed the your use of words to desribe all of the associated emotions. Great job

As the piece was of a dancer, was the piece a dance itself; be it a dark dance, but the flow was choice, and I especially liked, "the notes ring a pounding resonation portraying her desperate motivation," which I believe set the whole poem into its own

the core of perfectionism gnawing our fears regurgitating every time..don't i know it..nice rhyming skills though there was one line that was a little too forced 'a plastered smile to match her marble eyes' other than that, well done. ~m~
