There’s no more happiness here,
Inside my darkened world that is now nowhere.
What life there was has fled from me,
Inside my darkened heart that is now so sore.

A smile haunts my memories,
Entrapping all optimism for death.
All that’s left here is sorrow,
Entrapping what is left of my soul.

Laughter in the distance,
Just another mockery of my existence.
Light hangs over the trees,
But it never reaches me through the thick branches.

There’s no more interaction,
All those that were here have gone and left me cold.
Anyone I see now is fake,
Just wraiths lurking in the shadows I can’t see.

Every tree is one of death,
Perfect places that have somehow lingered on.
Living now is suffering,
The limbs hang over me whispering my name.

Fruit now hangs from the trees,
Each a most useful thing in this world of void.
Each one a tender noose,
Whose reward is most delicious to me.

I shall indulge my dream,
The one that was once a precious nightmare.
Wrapped in the vines and fruit,
My neck is adorned with them like vipers.

Their poison scent lingers,
The flowers black and sad tickle my nose.
Slowly I shall descend,
Hovering just inches above the ground.

I am a lost angel,
And I have found a release from all this.
The seclusion ends now,
I am no longer lost in a dead world.

My name was son, daughter, brother, sister, father, mother, child, world.
I am you.
This is where we are since we don’t care about each other.
We don’t care about ourselves.
Without compassion for one another there is only death.
We must open our eyes, our hands, our hearts.
We must celebrate life, or bask in our demise.
Goodnight love, it is time to wake up.
