What you are about to read is real life.
The things I have seen would make you sick.
The places I have been would scare you to death.
I feel that this war is one that will never end, but I still fight. I have killed, I have been shot, I have seen friends die. These are things that will never go away. These feelings are with me until the day I die. Just knowing that we're fighting for a country that could careless weathewr or not we make it home kills me. Knowing that I almost died defending a country that's not gonna miss me when I'm gone destroys me, but I fight anyway. I fight so that you can speak your mind, so you can call me a baby killer, I fight for what I believe in. I fight so YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Do I want a thankyou? NO! I just want you to know What it feels like to be a soldier in the world today. You might think I'm looking for attention, maybe a handout I'm not. I want all of you to open your eyes and see what it takes to make this country what it is "FREE" it takes soldiers like me and those who have died. We don't do it for the money, we do it because it needs to be done. I dont want to die for you I dont know you but I will so that you can feel safe in your own home. I'm only 22 I'm just a fucking kid I haven't enjoyed my life like most. But thats ok my life is what it is because I want it this way. I want to be free. I want you to be free.
