What are all these words, these words are all echoes
Why do I have these wings, these wings do not fly
A rendition of the last, the last is like the first
The beast in me lives on, lives on in my own eyes

No leash will fit my collar, my collar remains the same
As the wind inside my jacket, my jacket comforts me
Watch the colors fade, colors fade into my face
A shadow guides these words, these words in ebony

It's always so dark, so dark is the room
Her song comforts me, comforts me into sleep
Wrapped in a breath, a breath that lasts forever
Trapped in those eyes, those eyes that look deep

I close my eyes and see the same darkness
The same darkness that beckons my return
All I hear are my echoes of woe
Echoes that will forever burn

Agrees with Amand. I like poetry I can relate to. It makes sence to me even if I'm not sure exactly what you're saying. Very nice.

I really Love the repetition. each line is an echo of some sort of sorrow that becomes alive through the words... amazing. Very well done.

you pleasingly frustrate in that i am forced to re-read your works, confident that i have missed the underlying meanings, yet, finding myself attaching my own, however missing the mark. nice work. welcome to the site.
