I glance across the room to see you sitting still
My love left so lonely, sitting there without saying a word
The lamplight calmly illuminating your neck
You stare off into the wall
What are you thinking about?

The air barely moves as I think of the questions to ask you
The lump in my throat refuses to release itself
Why won’t you say something?
I know now that true sadness sits silently

It feels like forever is held within each minute
My sunken heart burnt out on confusion
Why can’t I open my mouth and say something?
How long will this last?

And yet sometimes just being there in silence counts for a lot. Sometimes the words would just destroy the moment. Very nicely done. ~Urban Shipwreck~
