"Release Me from Me." by Mylissa

I woke with the
sadness of broken emotions
leading to the last lane
on a dismal highway.

Chains kissed the skin
of a child lost, absorbed
in the sins of abuse. A cold stone
replacing the beating of my innocent heart.

Circumcise me at my knees,
and I will pray…pray for you to save me..

My lord, my savor…invade my brain with
strength, as I am a survivor. Cradle me in the
wings of angels, a silenced child will
be heard…through the beauty of these words.

Lift the bondage of resistance,
resentment, the control of another.
a mother…forgiveness is a keepsake,
for God’s sake…for my sake.

Release me,
from me.

wow such conscious sumblimation; and purification without the obvious religious didactic tone; very unique, your images spring up from nowhere: "circumise me at the knees" - who else???? THAT WAS ASTOUNDING!!!

In a daze. Brilliant, vulnerable, impenetrable, indefinite but sure. It's good to find a talent that hits the mark again and again. -END

'Release me from me' that has to be my favourite title. Reminds me of the Nirvana lyric 'beat me out of me' which is also quite genius. kudos.

This was like a gorgeous prayer, one for times when you become weary and cold to the world, caught under the pressure. Fantastic write.
