Dark soul,
where have you been?
Where did you come from?
Who is your kin?

You've walked a road
of fear and of lies,
with eyes wide open
to the blistering skies.

With great disdain
you promised to slay
the ones who disowned you
And those who betray.

You still walk that road
of fear and of lies.
Walking that road
'till the world's sweet demise.

Dark soul,
where have you been?
Why do you hide
those secrets within?

I second Beth's comment, brilliant work, short yet meaningful. And here I am being captivated, when I don't even like rhyme.

"Why do you hide those secrets within?" Sometimes, m'dear, 'tis better to be left without knowing than it is to know and be changed forever. Excellent rhyme scheme! ~*Beth*~

I liked this a lot. It flowed well and the question remains unanswered. Great piece. Julia~ :)
