Come in, let go of all you know and be free of mortal terror…. I’ll tell you a tale of a lost innocent. Who in all her days of mortality, never dreamed that she’d end up even more lost in the end.
She’s smiling on the outside,
But on the in, she is afraid
Her true self is cowering,
Hiding in the shadows of her own heart
And she can’t break free so she runs through the twisted corridors, never looking back.
So she seems distant,
Unfeeling and alone,
Its cause is the demon
Burrowing within her soul
Her fragile and innocent, yet tarnished, core is lost, And she stops.
She waits in the darkness,
Watching as another scar forms,
And another petal is pulled
From this already fading bloom.
...that is stained with the colors of false hopes and fallen stars.
The demon now covers the outside,
Making a mask of the tears unshed.
The mask is now smiling,
It’s a smile that is only half full.
She breaks down, deep inside the maze of tattered angel wings and false promises
Every now and then,
She tries to break out
She reaches out to the light
But she only catches the shadows it casts
The specters of faith, the refracted, twisted beliefs of the young. She wonders, how long has she been wandering…
She lays there, slowly dying
And she sheds never-ending tears
Her soul, finally breaking, falls in on its self
And the demon be comes her, as she becomes truly lost
Alone in the labyrinth of forgotten dreams and mirror shards.
She gives one last pain filled, meager smile.
A farewell to those who she never knew cared until now.
Her tears fall on those who watch like burning rain.
And she forever rests within the echoing halls of this maze of the damned.
The only time she looked back was to say goodbye. Had she sooner, she would have seen the way out of her anguish. She would have found the one thing, her savior, Love.
