one Note in music can be epic

one note in music can be nothing

one note in music can be destructive

one note in music can be perfect

not because one note can be better than another

D is not better than F and so on

what makes a note is what surrounds it

Scilence

a note that is a Minor 6th away

Diminished 5th away

Sharp 9th away

Or another of the same note

or just scilence

one note by itself is beutiful in that it can be what every we want it to be

IT is beutiful because it is pure, unttainted by it's surroundings

But it is still only a note

Just like everything else in life

Words (letters maybe)

People

they are all nothing without any of there own around them

This was inspired by Firefly and his write --receiving transmission of unknown origin--, Thanks a bunch

I would say that this is a brilliant concept... you have to think a bit to fully grasp it. Well put.

Such a lovely metaphor.. people as musical notes, in their isolated beauty.. in a sea of hearts that beat to the same tune.. One note can't make a whole song. wonderfully expressed.

well, in a sense your right on it...I would say one note can make song, one note and scilence, not one note with out the scilence though. same for people, not one person, but one person with the nothingness that surrounds him and affects him or he affects
