She got drunk on that psychedelic junk
she stared into the mirror and it stared her down
The American queen, yeah miss eighteen
living the dream the brought that her down
The psychedelic queen, she called for a dream
with her mirror image made to skip town
watching American children forced to sing
they're living with a smile and never a frown
[instrumental interlude]
[verse 2]
She had the mind to create the divine
the music made colors, the colors made sound
rising in the west the plans were set
to swim through concrete imagination lounge
she's sleeping divine in a goddess paradise
colors leak from the sky and rise from the ground
it can never falter, a dream underwater
a sinking concrete world that will never drown
[chorus]
Long live the queen, yeah
long live her never ending..
[repeat]
verse 3
The dream must start as she moves to the stars
And she turns the world with her cigarette smoke
endorphins start to soar and her lips say "more"
and we come to see that reality is a joke
You've got to understand that you cannot demand
forcing the world to change and persuading colors to glow
The trip's been good and it's time you understood
That she's been here a while and she's got to go
[chorus]
Long live the queen yeah
long live her never ending...
[Bridge]
She's walking through her garden where she wants to be alone
chemical world, no pollution, she's on her own
She's the peace of enduring dreams, you can't stop the show
but she's got to go
[chorus]
verse
She's left on a trip and she'll be gone for a bit
exiting the tower overlooking the town
where she'd sit without the twin princess
The mirror image conveyed as betraying the crown
Look into her eyes, been said to memorize
with light words and colors that were flowing by the ounce
She said "I am but a woman drunk with out a plan"
The queen is in her throne now give her her crown
[chorus]
long live the queen yea
long live her never ending
I took some inspiration from what some other people have written, I need to check with them before I call it "done"... but if it is done... I'm hoping to record the song over winter break in one of the studios... Provided I can write some good horn section parts for it in the appropriate areas...
