looking at the happiness
grow and flourish around me

feeling unwanted
invisible
alone in this still world

what did I do
to deserve this
I want to be happy
but everything that
seems pleasant

turns to dust
in my hands
my dreams
my talent
gone
like a puff of smoke

what I do to deserve this
this loneliness
this unwanted ness
this hopelessness

I want to be wanted
love and acknowledged

I want....a friend

who sees me

in this darkness
