I sing to you
My dear, my love
A song I've heard since I was young

A melody
Of infinite beauty
A soft and sweet lullaby

A kiss
A dance
A soft and sweet lullaby

I tuck you in
And turn out the lights
A soft and sweet good-bye

I check to make sure
You're safe and sound
A soft and sweet lullaby

Tip-toeing
Through the house
A soft and sweet lullaby

I pack my things
Put them in the trunk
A soft and sweet good-bye

I take one last look
And never come back
A soft and sweet lullaby

This was sad. Lovely. A very beautiful flow of words, that seemed to whisper. I found it dark, as well. Simply because, the story could have begun with a murder, and ended with his neibhors finding him dead and sweetly tucked in. Great job.
