All alone
Olny seven years old
Locked in a closet
Afraid of the dark

Been there for hours
Not making a sound
Scared half to death
Don't want Momma to come

Scared to come out
Scared to stay in
Momma opens the door
Beats her with a stick

Yells in her face
But she's done nothing wrong
Tells her she's shit
A worthless brat

Scars on her back
From when Momma would whip her
Closing her eyes
She tries to forget

Now fourteen
On her own
Away from Momma
And Momma's tricks

Still afraid of the dark
Still afraid of the closet
Still claustophobic
Still traumatized

Now healing
Scars still remain
She tries to forget about Momma
But Momma still brings her pain
