Time froze
And we languished there
Three souls Lost on a dark road
But one of more substance

We drew the lines between ourselves,
They in turn drew breath,
We rode into battle with kisses in our hands
And X's on our hearts...

The damage is done.

There's been too many sleepless nights
When my ashtray looked like Arlington National..
I piled em in as fast as they burn out
But there is always room for more

And you would go for days
With your candle lit at both ends
As you dove head-first, repeatedly,
Into the flames

Your loss of self matched only by my loss of soul
You took every moment of beauty we had left to have
And chose... to wither on your own
( I resented you for it )

And still do.

We made a circle, called it grace,
I really hate to say
That I could build a happy life
With the things you threw away

" We've aged "
 -Yes

" We've faltered "
 -Yes

" Again "
 -Always

 And still...

" I Adore You. "

sigh. those days saw much damage done... more between us than to myself, i think. i've missed you. lessons learned, truly, though i'm still defining progress.

"And you would go for days With your candle lit at both ends" i love the way the candle represents two burning souls. one end for each. and the yearning for the flames to subside. great write.

Let those days never end, that they will live forever in your mind. I see the beauty in damage, the loss of realism, I enjoy this trip.

oooooh, love, I've been struck mute and dumb by the content you have graced us with. I can no more hear the world than I could tear my eyes from your words. This is flawless. Lovely. Excellent. *Evangel*
