Street lamps go off and still she runs
Soaked to the bone from tears and rain
Her feet hit puddles-- she ignores
How they reflect her pride and pain
Her blood-drenched sleeves are never seen
Within the night this scene is swallowed
Is it more disturbing why she flees
Or the fact that no one followed?
