Who I kiss in the park
after dark is my business alone
I won’t tell a soul
the things that he told
that night that he cried
and I said, everything will be alright.
The streetlight illuminated his tears
as he bared all his fears
like he never had before.
And I don’t know what’s in store
but I know I want more.
A whole world has arisen
from an empty decision
that he would drive me home.
But we roamed the night,
escaping the light
to find that where we’d always been
was in each other’s skin.
