God spread his blanket of white
Gently hugging all living things
Below him,
The sweet smells and beautiful sights of autumn
Are gone,
Replaced by a cold and crisp
Northern wind
Creature’s of all kinds
Seek the warmth of shelter
To exist as a spectator to this
Natural wonder that continues to descend
In the midst of them,
The fire crackles from the hearth
While the soul warms in contentment
Days, weeks and months pass
Millions of snow crystals,
Like a million individuals
Populate the trees, the grass
And the very sanctuary we exist in,
Gusts of wind create the illusion of a
Mystical dance, of which we watch in wonder
Awaiting its final act
The splendor of this experience
Will soon pass, and the solitude once felt
Fades like melting of snow,
Allowing life to thrive again and
Leave us with only memories and emotion
