The flame burns black
the candle dies
our lives play out
'neath angry skies

the melted wax,
like blood pools round
to the sound
of pain profound.

TICK

TOCK-TICK

TOCK

come the diseaded murmers
of a dying clock

a ghostly whisper,
an angry sound
the clink of human bones
echoes 'round

under blue skies,
no sound fills the halls
but the house comes alive
as darkness falls

How about something not completely trite and overdone, like Darkness Falls is. How about since you spent the time to write this, you spend a few more minutes to title it. I can't stand that people would not title something worked so hard on.

I only suggested that because it happens to be the finalizing line of the poem.

Pretty good. How about "darkness falls" for a title?
