I look in the mirror
And I see an image
Someone very familiar
But not me
A Person whom I use to be

Someone not scarred
Someone unhurt
someone who hasn't been called any words

Someone closer to living
Someone farther from death
She doesn't worry about pain
She worries about having fun every day

But this isn't me anymore
I can't turn back from whence I came
So now I have to live in shame

Covered whith my scars
Living with an empty heart
Looking at that image of me
Remembering who I use to and can't be

Scars reflect and often jump from narrative to recipient, as is the case here. Heart-Wrenching.

Innocence lost, never to be regained ... a regretfully familiar concept. "Remembering who I use to and can't be" - but look at the potential. If you're at the bottom, the only way left is up, right? :) Thanks for sharing! :) ~L/S.D.

This is so heart-wrenching..a read that seems close to my heart, some how. You seem to bare your soul through your expression, and that's what makes this write so beautiful.
