Your voice graced me with its presence last night
And our pointless ramblings made me smile.
I thought about your hair, and how I love to run my fingers through it,
Slowly, and carefully, pausing to twirl some.
I miss you, and your presence.
That smile, oh you know the one,
You should at least, it’s reserved for you, and it’s been hiding too long,
But it visited last night.
In my mind, during those restless hours without sleep,
I outline your face with my thoughts, only to find you’re what I need to sleep,
To breath, to live, and dream.
I just need you to hold me at night and make me feel safe.
Will you comfort me when I’m sad? You already have.
Will you keep me warm in the cold? It’d be your pleasure.
Will you ever love me truly? Probably not.
Will you ever really be mine? Not likely.
But then again, no one can have everything.
