I once breathed the perfect breath
As long as I could, I held it in
But then I had to let it go
In order to live
Reflecting on another starry sky
Above there is a comet flying high
Making its journey towards the sun
Its tail pointing to where it came from
Made from rocks and ice as old as our earth
Leftovers from this solar system's spinning birth
They say much of the water in this worldly place
Originated from the void of outer space
Elements born from a dying star's tragedy
With our first kiss you became a part of me
And now I have a sense this ancient molecule
Has again returned you
I am now a part of you
You are now a part of me
And we are a part of everybody
Who was and will ever be
Circulating eternally
Recycling endlessly
The beautiful rain descending from the sky
May have once been the blood of Jesus Christ
Or from the venom of Cleopatra's asp
And a great dinosaur's final gasp
From containers we drink water clear
Perchance the blood, sweat and tears of a million years
And now the rhythm of my respiration
Is in sync with your articulation
I just breathed another perfect breath
I can't wait to breathe the next
As long as I can, I'll hold in
But I'll have to let it go in order to live
This ancient water molecule
That was once inside of you
Is now a part of me
As I am a part of you
And we are a part of everybody
Who was and will ever be
Circulating eternally
Recycling endlessly
